Privacy notice
Privacy notice - Career Crossroads course and Career Check
Who I am
I'm Doug Fraley, a sole trader trading as Inner Frontier Coaching (registered business name no. 730112), 21 Woodbury, Gorey, Co. Wexford, Ireland. I decide how your information is used in the Career Crossroads course and the Career Check, so I am the "controller" under data protection law. Contact me about anything in this notice at doug@doug-fraley.com.
This notice covers the course at learn.doug-fraley.com, the free Career Check, and the feedback questionnaire that course members send to people who know them. The rest of doug-fraley.com, including the Sovereignty Audit, is covered by the main privacy policy.
The short version
- Your answers are held only while you work on a module. At the end of each module you choose what to keep; I delete the rest.
- I can't browse your answers. My admin tools have no view of them, and any technical access is logged.
- Your answers are never sent to an AI service, never used for advertising, and never sold.
- The course site runs no analytics or tracking.
What I collect, and why
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address, and your name if you give it | To create your account and send sign-in links and course emails | Contract (to provide the course you've bought or the free check you've asked for) |
| Your purchase (product, price, date) | To give you access and keep tax records | Contract; legal obligation (tax records) |
| Your answers while you work on a module ("drafts") | So your work is saved between visits and devices | Contract; and your explicit consent, because written answers may reveal things like health, beliefs or relationships |
| Answers you choose to carry forward | To fill in later worksheets for you | Contract; your explicit consent |
| Your scores (self-assessment, Career Check) | To show your before-and-after and 90-day review | Contract; your explicit consent |
| Your progress (videos watched, modules finished) | To show where you are in the course | Contract |
| Your consent choices and when you made them | To prove what you agreed to | Legal obligation |
| Feedback from the people you invite (see below) | To produce your feedback report | Contract (for you); legitimate interests (for the rater) |
| A plan you choose to share with me for review | To prepare for your review call | Your explicit consent |
| Security records: which account touched which record, and when (never the content) | To keep the system secure and detect misuse | Legitimate interests |
I don't use your answers for anything else, and I don't make automated decisions about you.
How long I keep it
- Career Check answers waiting for you to open your sign-in link: 48 hours, then deleted.
- Drafts: deleted when you finish the module, or 60 days after you last worked on it (you'll get a reminder a week before).
- Answers you didn't carry forward: deleted when you leave the end-of-module screen. They can't be recovered.
- Carried-forward answers and scores: until you delete them or your account.
- Progress records: until you delete your account.
- Your account: until you delete it. If you don't sign in for three years, I'll email you and then delete it.
- Feedback: raters' email addresses and individual responses are deleted when you close your feedback round; your report stays until you delete it.
- Shared plans: I can see a plan you share until 30 days after your review call, then sharing ends automatically unless you renew it.
- Security records: 400 days.
- Purchase records: six years, as Irish tax law requires, even if you delete your account.
Your save files
At the end of each module you can download a save file of your answers. It is made in your own browser, so my server never holds a finished copy, and I never email it. Once downloaded it's yours to look after. If you later load it to fill in a worksheet, only the fields you tick are used.
Anonymous statistics
When you finish a module, your scores (never your written answers) can be added to anonymous totals that help me understand how people move through the course. These records carry no account ID and only the month, not the date. You can opt out at any time in your account settings.
Feedback raters
If someone invites you to give them feedback, I hold your email address only to send the invitation and up to two reminders. Your answers are combined with others' and shown only as averages, highs and lows, and only once at least three people have responded; written comments are shown without names and in random order. Your email address and individual answers are deleted when the round closes. You don't need an account, and you can ignore the invitation.
Who else handles your information
These services process data on my behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): the course website, sign-in, database and file storage. Your course data is stored in the EU (Belgium). Your sign-in account (your email address, and the IP address and browser details used when you sign in) is held by Google's sign-in service, which runs only from data centres in the United States, under Google's standard contractual clauses. Google also sends your sign-in links.
- Stripe: payments. Stripe receives your card details directly; I never see them.
- SendGrid (Twilio): other course emails, such as reminders, expiry warnings and feedback invitations, under standard contractual clauses.
- Calendly: booking your plan review call, if you buy one.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your information, to restrict or object to how it's used, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Most of this you can do yourself: carried answers are editable, save files give you a copy, and "Delete my account" removes everything except purchase records. Google, which stores the data for me, clears deleted data from its live systems within about two months and from its backups within about six months. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect what was done before, but the course can't save your work without it. For anything else, email doug@doug-fraley.com; I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Age
The course and Career Check are for adults. Please don't use them if you're under 18.
Changes
If I change this notice in a way that affects you, I'll tell you by email or when you next sign in. Last updated: 16 October 2026.
